KLEBSIELLA PNEUMONIAE NECROTIZING FASCIITIS OF THE LOWER EXTREMITY IN A 7-MONTH-OLD MALE: A CASE REPORT

๐ŸŒŸWe present a rare and life-threatening case of necrotizing fasciitis caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae in a 7-month-old male. This condition, characterized by rapid necrosis of skin, subcutaneous tissue, and fascia, requires early diagnosis and treatment to prevent severe morbidity and mortality.

๐Ÿ‘ถ The patient presented with darkened, sloughed areas on both lower limbs and an erythematous area on the right hand. Laboratory findings revealed significant abnormalities, including decreased hemoglobin and elevated leukocyte count. Blood cultures confirmed K. pneumoniae infection.
