🌟Advancing Surgical Techniques in Cleft Lip and Palate Treatment: The Impact of Modified Millard Technique with Premaxilla Shortening🌟

Cleft Lip and Palate (CLP) poses significant challenges in reconstructive surgery, impacting both aesthetics and function. At Malahayati Hospital, our recent research delves into the efficacy of the Modified Millard Technique with premaxilla shortening, aimed at enhancing outcomes and minimizing postoperative complications.

Conducted over a span of 2016-2019, our retrospective cohort study analyzed 23 cases of bilateral labioplasty. We utilized advanced surgical techniques to reduce wound tension and optimize scar management.

Key Findings:

  • 60.9% of patients were male, with a predominant age group of 2 years and older.
  • Majority of cases demonstrated excellent outcomes, with 73.9% achieving significant improvements in both aesthetic appearance and functional outcomes.

Our study underscores the importance of tailored surgical approaches in CLP treatment. By integrating innovative techniques like the Modified Millard Technique, we strive to set new standards in patient care and surgical excellence at Malahayati Hospital.
