This meeting served as a pivotal forum for the editorial team to review recent achievements and set the direction for JRE’s future development. One key topic was the progress toward accreditation in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), a strategic milestone in achieving international recognition. The team also conducted an evaluation of the journal’s performance in Scopus and the Science and Technology Index (SINTA), which are critical benchmarks for strengthening JRE’s scientific reputation both nationally and globally.
In addition, the editors discussed various challenges in daily journal management, ranging from the peer review process and manuscript handling to compliance with publication ethics standards. The discussion also covered strategies to improve publication quality, including expanding networks of international authors and reviewers, enhancing the online submission workflow, and increasing article visibility through optimized indexing and scientific promotion.
Through this meeting, all members of the editorial team reaffirmed their shared commitment to elevating JRE into a high-impact journal recognized at the international level. The strategic measures agreed upon are expected to strengthen JRE’s position as a trusted scientific publication in the field of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery, while making a meaningful contribution to the advancement of knowledge and clinical practice in Indonesia.
