EVALUATION OF MODIFIED UNILATERAL NASOPLASTY IN PATIENT WITH POST OPERATION OF UNILATERAL LABIOPLASTY AT MALAHAYATI HOSPITAL BANDA ACEH: COHORT STUDY FROM 2017-2019
Exploring Breakthroughs in Nasal Reconstruction: A Study on Modified Unilateral Nasoplasty
Nasal deformities associated with cleft lip pose significant challenges in reconstructive surgery, impacting both aesthetics and function. At Malahayati Hospital, Banda Aceh, our recent cohort study has delved into the effectiveness of modified unilateral nasoplasty techniques in addressing these complexities.
Key Findings:
Enhanced Symmetry and Aesthetics: Through our study, we've observed notable improvements in nasal symmetry and aesthetic outcomes post-surgery. Techniques modified by Dr. Muhammad Jailani, SpBP-RE, have shown promising results in achieving a more natural appearance and functional nasal structure.
Patient Demographics: The study highlighted a predominant gender distribution, with women comprising 61.2% of patients undergoing rhinoplasty. The highest age group seeking these procedures ranged from 1 to 7 years, underscoring the importance of early intervention for optimal results.
Clinical Implications: Insights from our research emphasize the transformative impact of tailored surgical approaches in cleft lip rhinoplasty. By addressing specific nasal deformities such as alar collapse and nasal length discrepancies, we aim to improve both cosmetic outcomes and nasal function for our patients.
Future Directions: While our initial findings are promising, ongoing documentation and research are essential to further validate and refine these surgical techniques. Continued collaboration and exploration in this field are crucial for advancing patient care and surgical outcomes.
We invite healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocates in plastic surgery and pediatric care to join us in exploring these advancements. Together, we can continue to innovate and improve the lives of individuals affected by cleft lip and nasal deformities.
